Bundl: wtf is it? #
wtf is Bundl? Where is the e at the end? Do I not know how to spell?
Bundl is an Order Sharing App (???). Ok, Let me set the stage:
Opening Act of misery #
It's 2am, your roommate is sound asleep, you're regretting not eating dinner, but you can't help it since PG food is so bad. Suddenly, ting - Zepto sends a notification about Hot Samosas in 10 mins. These data analyst mofos have access to my phone camera I swear.
Anyways, those Samosas are looking delicious and man it's 2am, where else are you gonna get food at this hour?
So you add some samosas in your cart, might as well get that 1 rupee zepto daily that is apparently supposed to save you more money than you have. Everything looks good, let's checkout and ... wait, why is the checkout amount 90 rupees for 2 samosas?
You press back to check the price of Samosas, 12 rupees each, seems fine, you press checkout again and the amount is 70 now. Weird, but must've been a glitch (wink wink Zepto, I see you). Wait why is it 70 wtf?
You expand the To Pay box they conveniently hid at the bottom of the page:
- 2 samosas: 24 rupees
- Some GST: ok ok, so far so good
- Service fees: 10 rupees (kinda big but ok I get it)
- Late night fees: alr damn, don't call me out like that
- Small cart handling fees?? shouldn't that be included in the SERVICE fees?
As I am dealing with this extremely sad situation and some extreme level of insomnia, Zepto decides it's a good time to taunt me with the prospect of getting free delivery if I just reach 200 order value.
It's 2:30 am now and I am really hungry, need to sleep to attend the standup in the morning, let's just pay whatever it's asking and move on, it's not like this is an everyday thing (it is ðŸ˜).
The White Lie #
You get a call from the driver that he has arrived, so you go down to receive the order. It's cold in Bangalore this time of the year and the time being 2am isn't helping. You see someone is waiting there already on a Yulu, you ask them "Pavit naam se hai?", before the driver even has a chance to respond, some guy comes and takes the order, apparently your guy told you a white lie about his arrival status so he wouldn't have to wait for you to come downstairs.
Some 2 more goofy color uniform guys on Yulu come and go before your guy arrives and you receive the food aid to save you from starvation.
Can we do something about it? #
This whole scenario happens more frequently than I (and the dark circles below my eyes) would like.
But one thing is for sure, I am not alone in facing this problem in the dystopia that BLR is.
If I only knew those guys whose orders came before me, we could have ordered together, reached order value and saved so much money in stupid fees.

I'm Lazy #
I will write more about the Domain Decisions that went into this and the Features that the app offers some time later, but I believe it's a pretty genuine problem and Bundl is a good enough solution for people living in the Dystopia that Bangalore is.
